"Being a Pioneer in the Climate KIC “Pioneers into Practice” programme gave me the opportunity to be part of a community of innovators and use my skills creatively while contributing to very interesting projects.
Starting with research on nature-inspired solar shading systems at ABUD Ltd. in Budapest, Hungary and ending with research on community initiatives in the Department of Architecture at the University of Bologna, Italy, my experience with PIP helped me widen my understanding of our current systems, of what the transition to a low carbon economy really means and gave me a fresh perspective on my own profession.
Working around specialists from different fields revealed what it takes to make a real change in our global society and how strategic thinking can actually tip our current systems. During the workshops and placements I met extraordinary people who inspired me to rise up to greater challenges in my career and developed beautiful friendships with them.
I would strongly recommend PIP to anyone who has a passion for their professional field, a drive to contribute to a better, more sustainable future and a will to be part of an inspiring community of disruptive thinkers."
