Adaptation is a necessary strategy at all scales to complement climate change mitigation efforts. The intensive 2 day workshop will take an approach to:
- Develop skills and capabilities to address the importance of adaptation action
- Take an international view of adaptation measures with participants and speakers
- from across Europe and from sectors threatened by flooding or heat
- Build a network of practitioners with the capabilities to become a frontrunner in
- adaptation issues
Outcomes:
Participants will develop an in-depth understanding of the subject of climate change adaptation and its relevance, and will develop understanding and skills to tackle the challenge
Participants:
The programme is for professionals at EU regional and local scale from the public sector, politics, or NGOs who recently started or plan to become active in the field of adaptation to climate change in the near future.
Methodology:
The programme will provide both theoretical and practical knowledge through input by experts from various fields combined with interactive activities focusing on individual challenges, completed with communication skills training.
Cost:
The course fee is €400. The fee covers accommodation, course material and 2 daily meals. Bursaries covering the full amount are available on a first come first served basis.
Deadline:
The deadline for applications is 21st November 2014. The maximum number of participants is 25.
