Certified Professional is a competency-oriented certification framework for professionals working on climate change innovation and entrepreneurship. Instead of certifying job-specific competencies, Climate-KIC Certified Professional will certify competencies required across sectors. Depending on the focus of the competencies, they are grouped as: Accelerating Transition, Promoting Innovation, and Driving Entrepreneurship. The certificate will:
· provide evidence of qualification required in many future-oriented jobs (and expose existing talent)
· create a community of professionals and experts committed to work on climate innovation
· increase the transparency of the European job market, across industries and countries
Our internal test phase of the Certified Professional in Accelerating Transition in November and December 2015 met with great interest. It attracted candidates from fifteen nations – including Taiwan and Canada – and generated very valuable feedback. After a review period we are currently piloting Accelerating Transition with external candidates to validate it in the market.
As the next stage we are introducing the certification process for "Promoting Innovation". We are now seeking qualified knowledgeable professionals in the innovation area with experience in evaluation and assessment to establish a pool of assessors. These assessors will use the competency framework and assessment tools provided to analyse and verify professional competencies of candidates. The assessment will be based on project experience evidenced in a written dossier and in an online interview.
A training workshop will be held on 14th November 2016, to introduce successful applicants to the methods of assessment and the tools provided. This workshop will bring together all assessors working on the test phase as well as the core team of Certified Professional.
